A popular application mostly has a friendly usability interface. Users can easy and no difficult to use it without long term in learning how to use it. Recently, I have adopted an “official document management system” for the college I teach. Since not only the system of running official document but also the interface of that system are difficult for most employees, I have encountered a hard time to promoting it for all coworkers. Moreover, I found some colleagues can learn how to use it step by step, but some have their first respond to say it is so difficult and a waste of time to run that application. Maybe the interface of that software is not so friendly. It has, however, all functions we need in running our college documents.
Thus, I agree your realization that “human behavioral patterns are more important than an interface design patterns.” People dislike for learning new application when they already get habit with old method in run official documents.
